PARI Universe 2026: Full Dota 2 Preview, Group Picks & Champion Pick

By Pickr Team-

PARI Universe 2026 brings ten Dota 2 teams online from October 22 to November 1 for a $250,000 prize pool. FISSURE organizes it and PARI is the title sponsor. It comes less than two weeks after BLAST SLAM VIII, and the field has nearly every contender: reigning TI champions Team Spirit, TI runners-up PARIVISION, and Team Yandex, who have won their last two events in a row. Several teams are also testing new rosters. The group stage only eliminates one team per group, so most of the real tests come in an eight-team double-elimination playoff.

Our key picks for the PARI Universe 2026 Dota 2 bracket:

  • Outright favorite: Team Yandex. They won PGL Wallachia Season 9 and BLAST SLAM VIII back to back, and they beat Team Spirit 3-1 in the BLAST SLAM VIII Grand Final.
  • Most likely Grand Final: Team Yandex vs PARIVISION, a rematch of a rivalry that has been dead even over the last 18 months.
  • Group winners: Team Yandex in Group A, PARIVISION in Group B.
  • Biggest upset threat: GamerLegion. They swept Team Liquid 2-0 at BLAST SLAM VIII and are in Liquid's group.
  • Best regional pick: Team Liquid, the strongest Western European side in the field and winners of 1win Essence II in August.
  • Most likely early exit: LEGION (stack), the only qualifier, drawn into a group with Spirit, PARIVISION and BetBoom.
  • Best sleeper: OG. Topson is back, and they just won the DreamLeague Season 30 Western Europe Closed Qualifier.

Context: TI 2026, BLAST SLAM VIII and the Summer Circuit

The International 2026

  • Team Spirit won their third Aegis in Shanghai in August, beating PARIVISION (competing as TEAM VISION) 3-2 in a five-game Grand Final.
  • Yatoro and Collapse became the first players to win three Internationals.
  • Team Yandex finished 3rd after a 2-0 loss to Spirit in the Lower Bracket Final. BetBoom Team finished 4th.
  • Team Liquid placed 5th–6th, 1w Team 7th–8th, GamerLegion 9th–13th and OG 14th–15th.

BLAST SLAM VIII

  • Team Yandex beat Team Spirit 3-1 in the Grand Final on October 11 in Malta, having already beaten Spirit 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Final.
  • PARIVISION finished 3rd after losing the Lower Bracket Final 2-1 to Spirit.
  • 1w Team placed 5th–6th. OG and GamerLegion placed 7th–8th, and BetBoom and Liquid placed 9th–12th.

PGL Wallachia Season 9

  • Team Yandex swept Natus Vincere 3-0 in the September 27 Grand Final. It was their first event with new offlaner ATF.
  • GamerLegion finished 5th–6th, and 1w Team 7th–8th after losing 2-1 to GamerLegion.

Esports World Cup 2026 and 1win Essence II

  • PARIVISION won the Esports World Cup in July, beating BetBoom Team 3-1 in the Grand Final. Team Yandex took 3rd, and Spirit lost 2-0 to Yandex in the playoffs.
  • Team Liquid won 1win Essence II in early August with a 3-0 Grand Final over Team Falcons. 1w Team was 3rd and BetBoom 4th.

Roster Notes

  • Team Yandex: Ammar "ATF" Assaf joined at offlane in September, and DM moved to the inactive roster.
  • Team Spirit: Collapse and coach Miposhka are taking a break. Batyuk (promoted from academy team Yellow Submarine) plays offlane, and Illidan is coaching.
  • PARIVISION: Their lineup is unchanged since the summer: Satanic, Noone, Noticed, 9Class and Dukalis, coached by Puppey.
  • Team Liquid: Wisper joined at offlane in September. Malr1ne (formerly of Falcons) signed at mid on October 15 to replace Nisha, so this is effectively his debut event for Liquid.
  • BetBoom Team: gpk is inactive. Save- moved to mid, swedenstrong joined at position 4, and TORONTOTOKYO replaced boolk as coach.
  • OG: Yopaj, Raven and TIMS left. Topson returned, SSS joined on loan from PARIVISION, OneJey signed at position 4 and kaffs is coaching.
  • GamerLegion: Yuma signed at carry in late September, replacing Ghost.
  • 1w Team: This is the former Tundra core (Pure, bzm, 33, Ari, Whitemon), playing under the 1w banner since June with coach MoonMeander.
  • Astra Invicta: Nightfall, lorenof, DM, OmaR and GH, coached by KuroKy. GH and KuroKy won TI together in 2017.

Group A Breakdown & Predictions

  1. Team Yandex
  2. Team Liquid
  3. 1w Team
  4. OG
  5. GamerLegion

Why Team Yandex tops the group:

  • They have won PGL Wallachia Season 9 and BLAST SLAM VIII in a row.
  • They are 6–2 in series against Team Liquid since April 2025, including a 2-0 win in the TI 2026 playoffs.

Predicted finishing order: Team Yandex, Team Liquid, 1w Team, OG, with GamerLegion eliminated.

Behind Yandex, this group is close. Liquid has the better history, including a 6–1 series record against OG, but Malr1ne has had almost no time with the team. 1w Team edges OG after beating them 2-1 at BLAST SLAM VIII. GamerLegion's 2-0 win over Liquid in October shows they can beat anyone here on a good day.

Group B Breakdown & Predictions

  1. PARIVISION
  2. Team Spirit
  3. BetBoom Team
  4. Astra Invicta
  5. LEGION (stack)

Why PARIVISION tops the group:

  • They have the most stable roster of the three favorites. Their summer lineup is unchanged, while Spirit is still playing without Collapse.
  • They are 12–4 in series against BetBoom Team since April 2025, including 3-1 in the Esports World Cup Grand Final and two series wins at TI 2026.
  • They won two of their three meetings with Spirit at TI 2026 before losing the five-game Grand Final.

Predicted finishing order: PARIVISION, Team Spirit, BetBoom Team, Astra Invicta, with LEGION (stack) eliminated.

The October 26 series between Team Spirit and PARIVISION probably decides first place. Spirit leads their series record 9–5 since April 2025 and just beat PARIVISION at BLAST SLAM VIII, so either result is plausible. Astra Invicta has experienced players but no games together, and their October 24 series against LEGION will probably decide the last playoff spot.

Head-to-Head Records (Last 18 Months)

Series records since April 2025 from OpenDota-tracked pro matches, including Bo1 group games. Many rosters have changed since the earlier meetings.

  • Team Yandex vs Team Spirit: Yandex leads 10–4, including 2–1 across their three BLAST SLAM VIII meetings.
  • Team Yandex vs PARIVISION: Even at 3–3 with 2 draws. PARIVISION won at the Esports World Cup and TI 2026, and Yandex won at BLAST SLAM VIII.
  • Team Yandex vs Team Liquid: Yandex leads 6–2.
  • Team Yandex vs OG: Even at 3–3 with 1 draw.
  • Team Spirit vs PARIVISION: Spirit leads 9–5 with 1 draw, but PARIVISION won two of their three TI 2026 series.
  • PARIVISION vs BetBoom Team: PARIVISION leads 12–4 with 1 draw.
  • BetBoom Team vs Team Spirit: Even at 6–6.
  • Team Liquid vs OG: Liquid leads 6–1.
  • Team Liquid vs GamerLegion: Liquid leads 7–1, but GamerLegion won the most recent meeting 2-0 at BLAST SLAM VIII.
  • OG vs GamerLegion: OG leads 2–1. GamerLegion won their TI 2026 elimination match 2-0.
  • 1w Team (current roster): 1–0 with 2 draws against OG, 0–2 against Yandex.
  • Astra Invicta and LEGION (stack): No meaningful history against this field.

Yandex has the edge on Spirit and Liquid, while Yandex vs PARIVISION is dead even.

Predicted Top 4

  • 1st, Team Yandex: Back-to-back titles and a 10–4 series lead over Spirit.
  • 2nd, PARIVISION: The best series record in the field over the last 120 days, with an unchanged lineup.
  • 3rd, Team Spirit: Still dangerous without Collapse, as their BLAST SLAM VIII Grand Final run showed.
  • 4th, Team Liquid: Their 1win Essence II title puts them ahead of BetBoom, provided Malr1ne settles in quickly.

Projected Playoff Bracket

The organizer has not published how group placings map to bracket slots, so this projection assumes a standard crossover seeding (A1 vs B4, A2 vs B3, B1 vs A4, B2 vs A3).

  • Upper Bracket Quarterfinals (October 28): Team Yandex over Astra Invicta, Team Liquid over BetBoom Team, PARIVISION over OG, Team Spirit over 1w Team
  • Lower Bracket Round 1 (October 29): BetBoom Team over Astra Invicta, OG over 1w Team
  • Upper Bracket Semifinals (October 29): Team Yandex over Team Liquid, PARIVISION over Team Spirit
  • Lower Bracket Quarterfinals (October 30): Team Spirit over BetBoom Team, Team Liquid over OG
  • Lower Bracket Semifinal (October 30): Team Spirit over Team Liquid
  • Upper Bracket Final (October 31): Team Yandex over PARIVISION
  • Lower Bracket Final (October 31): PARIVISION over Team Spirit
  • Grand Final (November 1, Bo5): Team Yandex over PARIVISION

Best Picks & Sleeper Picks

  • Best value pick: PARIVISION to win the event. They are 3–3 against Yandex over 18 months and came within one game of the Aegis.
  • Upset to watch: GamerLegion over Team Liquid on October 23. GamerLegion won their last meeting 2-0, and Liquid will have played only one series with Malr1ne.
  • Sleeper: OG. The rebuilt roster with Topson just won its DreamLeague qualifier.
  • Group-stage upset: BetBoom Team over Team Spirit on October 24. They are 6–6 in series over 18 months, and Spirit is still adjusting to its new offlaner.
  • Who to avoid: Astra Invicta in the upper bracket. The roster is talented but has no games together.
